                        Eligibility 1. Candidate should be a citizen of India
2. Nativity: Candidate should be a native of Tamilnadu
3. Age: Should have completed the age of 17
    years on or before 31st December (Evidence
    to be produced)
4. Marks
   i. Other Communities :
      Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       marks should not be less than 140 out of
      200 marks
   ii. BC & BCM :
       Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       marks should not be less than 130 out of
      200 marks
  iii. MBC :
       Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       marks should not be less than 120 out of
      200 marks
  iv. SC, SCA, ST :
      Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       marks should not be less than 80 out of
       200 marks
 
The candidates under Physically challenged Category- (Locomotory disability of lower limbs alone). OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DC should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in each prescribed subject in the qualifying examination.
                   Course duration 5 ½ years including one year Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship
 
           Sanctioned number of seats 150
(85% State Quota, 15% All India Quota)
  1. 15% of the total seats in each Government Medical/Dental College are reserved for All India Quota.
  2. If MBBS/BDS seats earmarked for All India Quota are surrendered back by the Director of General of Health Services, New Delhi, the vacancies will be added to the General Pool and will be filled up with the candidates from the merit list applying the rule of reservation followed by the Government of Tamilnadu.

                  Selection Procedure Ranking will be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed science subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks obtained through different boards will be taken into account after normalization.

Percentage in Biology(after normalization  (X)
Percentage in Physics and Chemistry

Percentage in Botany and Zoology
  taken together (after normalization)          (Z)
Weighted total marks for a maximum Either (X+Y)
    of 200                                                    or (Z+Y)
 
The percentage and the weighted total should be accurate to two decimals.
On the merit basis of percentage of the above weighted total selection will be made.
University Examination details Examination will be conducted by the Deputy Controller of Examination of the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai  every year during the months of February and August
