Eligibility 1. Candidate should be a citizen of India
2. Nativity: Candidate should be a native of Tamilnadu
3. Age: Should have completed the age of 17
    years on or before 31st December (Evidence
    to be produced)
4. NEET Marks
   i. Other Communities :
      Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       NEET marks should not be less than 118 out of
      720 NEET marks in the corresponding
      academic year.
   ii. BC & BCM :
      Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       NEET marks should not be less than 118 out of
      720 NEET marks in the corresponding
      academic year.
  iii. MBC :
      Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       NEET marks should not be less than 118 out of
      720 NEET marks in the corresponding
      academic year.
  iv. SC, SCA, ST :
     Weighted aggregate of the percentage of
       NEET marks should not be less than 118 out of
      720 NEET marks in the corresponding
      academic year.
     The candidates under Physically challenged Category- (Locomotory disability of lower limbs alone). OC/BC/BCM/MBC/DC should have obtained a minimum of 118 out of 720 NEET marks in the corresponding academic year.
Course duration 5 ½ years including one year Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship
Sanctioned number of seats 150
(85% State Quota, 15% All India Quota)
  1. 15% of the total seats in each Government Medical/Dental College are reserved for All India Quota.
  2. If MBBS/BDS seats earmarked for All India Quota are surrendered back by the Director of General of Health Services, New Delhi, the vacancies will be added to the General Pool and will be filled up with the candidates from the merit list applying the rule of reservation followed by the Government of Tamilnadu.

Selection Procedure  
The admission shall be made on the basis of National Eligibility – cum -Entrance Test NEET-UG score for MBBS Degree Courses
 
(ii) Merely appearing and qualifying in NEET (UG) does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to MBBS Courses. The selection and admission to MBBS seats in any Medical Institution recognized for MBBS Courses is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in merit list, medical fitness and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government of India, respective State Institutions and Medical Colleges.
 
(iii) Candidate’s eligibility for MBBS / BDS Courses is purely provisional and is subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu as applicable.
University Examination details Examination will be conducted by the Deputy Controller of Examination of the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai  every year during the months of February and August
